What Duct Cleaning Costs in Lewisville (2026)

Updated 2026-10 · Lewisville, TX

A long slatted metal ceiling vent

The range, and what it assumes

For a full source-removal cleaning of one heating and cooling system on an ordinary Lewisville house, local companies generally quote somewhere around $400 to $900. That assumes the method described on the duct cleaning page: the system held under negative pressure, every supply and return run agitated, registers washed, plenums cleaned. It is several hours of work for two people with a truck-mounted or large portable vacuum. Two things push a house above that range more than anything else. A second system, which most of the larger two-story houses in Castle Hills, Flower Mound and Frisco have, and adding the blower and coil, which is separate work and, in Texas, licensed work. A quote of $1,200 to $1,800 for a two-system house with both air handlers cleaned is not unusual and not a rip-off. This site does not set these prices or take a share of them; the company that quotes you does.

What moves the number

How many runs

Some companies price the house; many price by the number of supply and return openings. A 2,000 square foot single-story house might have 12 to 16 supply registers and one or two returns. Count yours before you call.

Access

An attic with decking to the air handler and room to stand is quicker than a low, hot, insulation-filled attic where every run has to be reached by crawling. Closet air handlers are easier still.

The equipment end

Blower removal and cleaning, coil cleaning and drain pan work are usually separate lines. Expect them to add a real amount, and expect them to be done by a contractor holding a TDLR air conditioning licence.

What turns up

Rodent nests, a crushed or disconnected run, or wet insulation change the job. A fair quote says up front how those will be handled and priced if they are found.

Add-ons that are worth it and ones that usually are not

  • Dryer vent cleaning on the same visit: usually worth it, and often cheaper together
  • Sealing return leaks found in the attic: usually the best value on the invoice
  • A lab sample of suspected mold: inexpensive and settles the question
  • Whole-system "sanitising" or fogging: the EPA says the benefits have not been shown; ask for the label first
  • Duct sealant painted inside the runs: not a routine recommendation, per the EPA

What a written quote should show

The number of systems and runs included. Whether the blower, coil and drain pan are in or out. How the system is held under negative pressure, and with what equipment. How long the job is expected to take. What happens, and at what price, if a problem turns up once the work starts. The EPA's advice is to get written estimates from at least three companies that state the total cost, the scope and the hours, and to compare the scope rather than the bottom line.

Prices that should make you pause

Anything under about $200 for a whole house. A firm price over the phone with no question about the number of systems. A per-vent price with a "minimum vents" clause that is only explained at the door. And a quote that is mostly sanitiser, ozone or fog. The $99 guide covers how that offer usually unfolds.

Where to go next

Common questions

Why will nobody give a firm price on the phone?

Because the number of runs, the attic and the state of the coil decide it, and none of those can be seen over the phone. A ballpark is fair; a firm number sight unseen usually changes at the door.

Is per-vent pricing a bad sign?

Not on its own. It is a common way to price. Multiply it out for your house, ask whether returns and plenums are counted, and compare the total to a whole-house quote.

Does a second system really cost twice as much?

Close to it, because it is a second air handler, coil, set of returns and set of runs. Some companies discount the second one a little since the truck is already there.
